ABOUT David E. Cox

Dr. David Cox is a highly skilled and accomplished Interventional Cardiologist with an interest in complex coronary interventions, particularly those requiring left ventricular support. He also is experienced with peripheral vascular interventions. Dr. Cox has training and interest in diagnostic testing including Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Cox graduated Summa Cum Laude from UAB with a B.S. in Biology in 1994, thereafter, completing his MD at The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1998. He was named Intern of the Year at Wake Forest University during his internal Medicine Residency where he later served as a Chief Resident before completing his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowships in 2006.

Dr. Cox holds Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. He sees patients at the Colonnade office and Sylacauga office of CVA. He is accepting patients for all general cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Cox performs interventional procedures and manages patients at both Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Grandview Medical Center and Coosa Valley Medical Center.

In his spare time, Dr. Cox enjoys spending time with and raising his children Hannah, Samuel, and Ethan. He enjoys running and physical activity, as well as hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He is also talented as a musician and enjoys playing guitar and listening to music.
