ABOUT Benjamin R. Plaisance
Dr. Ben Plaisance is a member of CVA’s cadre of younger impeccably trained and experienced cardiologists. Dr. Plaisance practices general cardiology supplemented by all contemporary diagnostic modalities including vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, nuclear imaging, stress testing as well as cardiac catheterization and other selected invasive procedures. Additionally, he completed a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology at UAB in conjunction with his medical degree in 2007. He then went on to complete his Internal medicine training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and his cardiology training at the University of Kentucky, Gill Heart Institute in Lexington. Dr. Plaisance began his private practice in Cardiology in Birmingham, Alabama in 2013.
Dr. Plaisance holds board certifications in Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and has specialized training as a Registered Physician in Vascular Ultrasound (RPVI). He also has advanced training in an array of other diagnostic modalities including but not limited to Cardiac CTA, transesophageal echocardiography, and Diagnostic Coronary Angiography including radial access. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, member of the American Society of Echocardiography, member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Dr. Plaisance is a native of Birmingham, Al having attended high school here as well. He was married in 2005, and he and his wife are proud parents of four wonderful children. Dr. Plaisance sees patients at the Brookwood ACC office, the Colonnade office, the Fultondale office and the Sylacauga office of CVA and manages patients at Brookwood Medical Center, Grandview Medical Center, and Coosa Valley Medical Center. He is accepting patients with a wide range of cardiology and diagnostic needs.
